Jigsaw Festival starts today 10am United Reformed Church
I am pleased to have been asked to open the Third Annual Jigsaw Festival at the United Reformed Church today. I attended last year’s event and was really impressed with the hundreds of completed jigsaws on display. The concept of the festival is a very clever one and brings in many visitors to the church on St George’s Road during the five days it is on. I hope St. Anne’s residents and visitors will support the Festival.
Opening times 10am to 5pm (4pm Sat). Jigsaw Festival information

Now let’s pull together to save St. Anne’s Pool
A victory parade in Kirkham demonstrated how local people have pulled together to ensure that an important leisure facility wasn’t lost because of Fylde Borough Council’s financial problems. The parade was well supported by local residents including Prof Bill Winlow, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Fylde. At the moment these are the only Public Swimming baths on the Fylde.
Let’s hope that Lytham St Anne’s residents and leisure facility providers will now get together to rescue St Anne’s Pool before it deteriorates beyond repair. Gazette story

Good news for St Anne’s
More shops are opening in the town centre in Garden Street and Park Road and inquiries about Holiday flats/apartments in St Anne’s are up threefold.
What a shame that this summer’s visitors won’t be able to pop-in to the town centre-based Tourist Information Office at a weekend or more importantly on a Bank Holiday because Tory-controlled Fylde Borough Council are relocated it to the Town Hall to save money.
